Higher education is beneficial, but it is not a panacea, especially when it comes to closing the wealth gap between whites and people of color. A new study from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis found that while college-educated families typically earn higher incomes and generate more wealth across racial-ethnic groups, education does not protect the wealth of all racial and ethnic groups.
