Los Angeles, United States - August 06, 2025 08/05/2025 06:45 pm GMT-0700 SAN FERNANDO, Calif. – A woman is free and safe after firefighters rescued her from inside a chimney Tuesday evening. The incident took place in the 200 block of Park Avenue in the city of San Fernando when a woman was reportedly dancing on a rooftop before witnesses say she fell and became trapped inside a chimney. San Fernando Police officers requested Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters (LAFD) to respond to the scene to free the trapped woman. After a long and tedious preparation, firefighters hoisted the woman out of the chimney. All of this happened in front of a crowd of parkgoers, as the chimney belongs to a historical building within the San Fernando Recreational Park. San Fernando Police Sgt. Brian Woodward described on-camera how the woman dancing on the roof and falling into the chimney stood out among many situations in his career. Parkgoer Israel Olivas saw the woman on the roof, taking off her clothes, before hearing the woman screaming for help from inside the chimney.
