Protecting U.S. Agriculture Against Foreign Threats

"American agriculture is not just about feeding our families but about protecting our nation and standing up to foreign adversaries who are buying our farmland, stealing our research, and creating dangerous vulnerabilities in the very systems that sustain us," said Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins during the rollout of the USDA's National Farm Security Action Plan. The plan was designed to guard the country's agriculture sector against foreign threats, secure the food supply, protect agriculture research and innovation, and prevent the purchase of farmlands by foreign adversaries, specifically China. Joining the secretary at the event were members of the Cabinet, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, as well as Republican Governors Jim Pillen (NE), Sarah Huckabee Sanders (AR) and Bill Lee (TN).
