Good shooting form is something that has to be taught to and learned by youth basketball players when they begin playing basketball. Practicing good shooting form without a basket, and rather with a partner, is a good way to gain strength in the muscles needed to shoot the ball. In this drill, we'll review the partner form shooting drill by utilizing a line to identify a target, similar to a basket. Each player should take turns shooting the ball back and forth to each other, focusing on the full body shooting form. Start by bending the knees, have the stronger hand positioned under the ball, and the weak hand supporting the ball lightly on the side. Only your fingertips should be touching the ball. Shoot straight up and down and emphasize aiming for the line in front of each player.
