Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), who has a long-standing interest in Ukraine, noted during a break in the Senate impeachment trial that many of the House Democrat impeachment managers now arguing that President Donald Trump should be removed for a temporary hold on aid to Ukraine voted against it themselves. She also noted that Trump, unlike President Barack Obama and the Democrats, gave Ukraine “lethal aid” to defend itself from Russia.
