Amazon is shutting down its telehealth service

As the business reconsiders its strategy for entering the healthcare sector, Amazon said on Wednesday that it is closing its telehealth program, Amazon Care. According to its website, Amazon Care, which was introduced in 2019, promised to remotely connect patients with a physician "24/7, 365 days a year." It also offered limited in-person services in some areas. It was first developed for both enterprise clients and Amazon's staff. While discontinuing the telemedicine program, Amazon is heavily funding a different initiative that has similar characteristics. Amazon said last month that it had reached an agreement to buy One Medical for an estimated $3.9 billion in cash.
