Kottayam: Following the protest against Jalandhar bishop, the authorities are likely to hand over the investigation to Crime Branch. It is reported that DGP Loknath Behera has asked Kottayam SP who is probing the case whether the case should be handed over to Crime Branch. Kottayam SP has sought opinion of the probe team regarding this. Vaikom DySP Subhash responded that their stand on the matter will be informed within two days. It is indicated that he has no disagreement with crime branch inquiry into the complaint. The top officials of police have decided to approach the crime branch as the investigating officer is burdened with excess work as Vaikom DySP is given with the additional charge of Pala DySP too.
