MIT invented a wearable device that detects breast cancer

The flexible patch fits over a special bra. When the wearer passes an ultrasound tracker over the surface they can scan the breast at high resolution and detect abnormalities such as growths or cysts. Lead researcher Canan Dagdeviren was inspired by the death of her aunt who passed away from breast cancer despite regular screenings. 20-30% of breast tumours develop between mammograms.
