"I believe every patient needs to have a very thorough conversation with a doctor before taking a medication," she said when asked whether an in-person visit should be mandatory to be prescribed mifepristone, part of a two-drug regimen to cause an abortion. Cassidy seemed slightly unsatisfied that Means' response wasn't clearer, though she explained it would be out of her purview as surgeon general.
