A male contraceptive gel named ADAM, injected into the vas deferens, shows significant promise in blocking sperm. While women have several birth control options, ADAM hopes to be a breakthrough contraceptive for men. Developed by biotech company Contraline, the non-hormonal gel aims to provide reversible and long-lasting contraception, calling it men's "IUD.". While experts express concerns about the gel's reversibility and potential sperm bypass, the results have been hailed as "phenomenal." The gel's effectiveness in preventing pregnancy and its reversibility will be explored in future trials, with hopes of FDA approval by 2027.
