A growing memorial in Kearns honors the life of 12-year-old Adam Mahamat, who was tragically killed on his way to school on Thursday. Adam’s older brother, Haidar Mahamat, described Adam as kind and intelligent. “I like him, he’s smart too. He’s better than me, smart, you know,” Haidar said. The Mahamat family, refugees from Sudan, have lived in Utah for only a year and a half. “And then he died today. We don’t know what to do, you know,” Haidar said.
