Thousands evacuated as California wildfires spread outside Los Angeles

A wildfire in California has scorched more than 1,300 acres of land as thousands of people were prompted to evacuate. The Sandy Fire was ignited above Simi Valley, located roughly 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
