Alephonsion Deng and Benjamin Ajak talked about their book [They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky: The True Story of Three Lost Boys from Sudan], published by PublicAffairs. In the book, brothers Alephonsion and Benson Deng and their cousin Benjamin Ajak share their experiences as survivors of the Sudanese civil war in the late 1980s. At the event, Mr. Deng and Mr. Ajak, who are joined by their co-author Judy Bernstein, described fleeing the Dinka tribe of Sudan as young boys after their village was attacked. The authors recounted their journey across the Southern Sudan and how they eventually joined a group of child refugees known as the Lost Boys. Following their presentation, Mr. Deng and Mr. Ajak responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
