Pope Francis has reportedly repeated a derogatory term for gay people during a closed-door meeting with Roman priests. This comes shortly after a similar incident, where he used a vulgar Italian term that translates roughly as “f*****ry”, according to ANSA news. In his recent meeting, Francis stated there is "an air of f*****ry in the Vatican." He suggested that young men with homosexual tendencies should not be allowed into seminaries. The Vatican responded by emphasizing the pope's call for welcoming gay individuals into the Church. Despite Pope Francis's previous efforts to reach out to the LGBTQ community, these incidents have sparked controversy. The Vatican ruled in 2005 that the church cannot allow the ordination of men who are actively gay or have “deep-seated” homosexual tendencies. In 2008 ,he told Italian bishops not to accept gay candidates for the priesthood.
