Liam Lawson Replaced By Yuki Tsunoda For Japanese GP

Red Bull have made a bold move, dropping Liam Lawson after just two races and swapping him with Yuki Tsunoda for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix. The decision to replace Lawson with Tsunoda was made by senior Red Bull officials following a meeting with the company's shareholders. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner explained the reasoning behind the swap, calling it "a purely sporting decision." "We have a duty of care to protect and develop Liam and together, we see that after such a difficult start, it makes sense to act quickly so Liam can gain experience, as he continues his F1 career with Racing Bulls, an environment and a team he knows very well," said Horner.  Lawson’s two opening races were disappointing, with poor qualifying results and no championship points, highlighting the need for a change to give him the chance to improve.  The decision was made to give Lawson an opportunity to rebuild his form, with Red Bull hoping this change will help him gain valuable experience for the future. Tsunoda, now in his fifth season with Racing Bulls, will step into the Red Bull Racing seat for the Japanese Grand Prix, marking a major milestone in his career. This will be a huge opportunity for Tsunoda, especially as he races in his home country at Suzuka, which is owned by his long-time backer, Honda.
