WIld video shows California carjacker mowed down, shot by cops in San Jose

A San Jose crime spree that spanned more than 50 miles and involved eight homes ended in one dead suspect and injured police officers, authorities said. The chaos began when a man stole a vehicle from a San Jose dealership and drove south toward Hollister. Officers from Hollister and the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office pursued him through multiple encounters, including two separate shootouts. Hollister police say none of their officers were injured during the exchanges. The suspect’s rampage didn’t stop there. He allegedly carjacked another vehicle to try to return to San Jose, leading officers on a high-speed chase that finally ended near Highway 87 at Notre Dame Avenue, where West St. James turns into Julian Street, ABC7 reported.
