Bridgeport police launched a criminal investigation hours after the state's chief medical examiner ruled Lauren Smith-Fields, 23, death accidental because of an overdose of fentanyl, prescription medication and alcohol. Smith-Fields was found dead in her apartment in December after spending the night with a man she met on the dating app Bumble.
