A person plunged 500 feet to their death after driving off a beachside cliff along the scenic route of California Highway 1 near Santa Cruz County May 18. The victim-who has only been identified as a 58-year-old man from Santa Rosa-died after his car crashed off iconic state highway near Greyhound State Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
