Border Control Commander Greg Bovino News Conference on ICE Operations in Minneapolis

At a news conference one day after a second shooting death of an American citizen by federal agents in Minneapolis, Border Control Commander Greg Bovino said that politicians, journalists, and community leaders made "choices" to engage in "heated rhetoric" that led to "tragic consequences, bad outcomes." He further stated that the shooting death of Alex Jeffrey Pretti was "preventable by folks making better choices," and that the agents involved at of that shooting were still working, although not in Minneapolis. ICE official Marcos Charles spoke about an agent who was injured on when "violent agitators" tackled him and a protestor "literally bit off part of that agent's finger."
