*BAD DORMS: One of the country’s most expensive dorms – at the New School in NYC – are falling apart. Last week, an estimated 700 students housed in the 301 Residence Building on 17th St. and First Ave. were kicked out of their $27,550-a-year-rooms due to a gas leak and thrown into temporary housing around Manhattan – adding to the number of students who were displaced earlier this month when a fire erupted on the 19th floor of the building on April 2. This TikTok by one resident showed sewage water flooding the building’s staircases and common areas in the aftermath of the fire. “It’s affecting my mental health and heightening my OCD,” Ellis Gatewood, a first-year student and former 301 resident, told The Post – and noted that they haven’t been able to attend any classes in the week since moving to a 70th Street apartment because of the stress. “It’s been kind of sucky. It just felt like all this money is going in and I’m not really seeing an exchange there,” said Holden Goldberg, another first-year student housed in 301.
