Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department Chief Dennis Rubin, International Association of Fire Fighters General President Edward Kelly, and antitrust attorney Basel Musharbash were among the witnesses testifying on antitrust concerns involving manufacturers of firefighting vehicles and equipment before a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee. Several topics were addressed, including increased prices, delivery delays, and how delays impact fire departments and public safety, and repair and part replacement challenges. Executives from two major manufacturers also answered several questions on reasons for manufacturing backlogs and how to improve delivery times and customer satisfaction.
