Swalwell, Gonzales officially resign from House

Resignation letters from Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) and Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) have been read out on the House floor. Both men have given up their office amid the backdrop of lurid sexual misconduct scandals. Their resignations reduce the current composition of the House to 430 members -- 216 Republicans, 213 Democrats and one independent -- Kevin Kiley of California, who caucuses with the GOP.
