Darren Boykin, 23, died in police custody in August 2019 after Texarkana College police officers confronted him under the suspicion that he had been involved in a theft. After making contact with Boykin and learning that he had a felony warrant in Ohio, officers took him into custody and transported him to jail, although he was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead before bring booked.
