Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the person who opened fire at a Trump rally, killing one person and injuring two others. Crooks worked in a local nursing home kitchen and was a registered Republican voter. He had a membership at a local shooting club. Crooks used an AR-15-style rifle and was located on the roof of a building near the rally before opening fire. He was then shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper. Investigators are still working to determine Crooks' motive for the shooting. Crooks was a registered Republican but also donated $15 to the liberal group ActBlue in 2021, according to US media. Suspicious devices were found in Crooks' vehicle, and the area around his home is being investigated as a potential bomb scene.
