"I think that it's by the awesome grace of God that we aren't mourning dead pilots right now," said House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Jim Himes (D-CT) over concerns classified information may have been included in the recently leaked Signal group chat with senior intelligence officials. His comments came during his opening statement at a hearing on worldwide threats with national security officials, which included CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who were identified as being part of the leaked chat. During her testimony, DNI Gabbard said, "it was a mistake that a reporter was inadvertently added to a Signal chat," and reasserted "no classified information was shared," but called it "a standard update to the national security Cabinet." Other topics addressed included the use of the Alien Enemies Act, Section 702 of the FISA Reform and Reauthorization Act, Mexican cartels, and threats from China, Russia, and Iran.
