Pandemonium broke out in the Serbian National Assembly on March 4 as opposition lawmakers exchanged physical blows, lit flares and threw smoke bombs, filling the chamber with fumes and smog. The assembly was meeting to address the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, who stepped down following mass protests related to the recent fatal collapse of a major Serbian rail station. Several members of parliament were injured with one reported in a critical condition. Prosecutors announced the detention of 11 people following the government fracas.
