Madison Township Fire Department was dispatched and found a vehicle in the water with one occupant still inside in Indiana on May 27, 2026. The driver was able to return to land without assistance from firefighters. While crews were clearing the scene, they heard a baby deer being carried downstream in the rapidly rising water. Captain Joe Sinclair entered the water and rescued the deer, bringing it safely back to shore. Medics on scene provided aid until the deer could be transferred to a local animal rescue.
