Gérard Depardieu Faces New Sexual Assault Allegations

French actress Hélène Darras has filed an official complaint against Gérard Depardieu, claiming he sexually assaulted her while filming 'Disco' in 2007. Darras is the second woman to publicly accuse Depardieu of sexual assault, following actress Charlotte Arnould who filed a complaint in 2018. Arnould accused the actor of raping her in Paris and the case is currently working its way through the courts. Depardieu has denied all charges. On 'Complément d’Enquête', an investigative news show, Darras recounted how Depardieu harassed her on set when she was 26 years old. “He looked at me as if I were a piece of meat,” Darras said and was wearing a tight dress when he “passed his hand over my hips and buttocks”. "I was an extra. I hadn’t even finished theater school. I really wanted to be an actress and I didn’t want to be blacklisted at 26…", said Darras. This year, Médiapart published a report detailing allegations by 13 women against Depardieu, some dating back decades.
