What is energy equity? And why is it stalling globally?

Affordable, reliable energy is vital to reducing poverty and should be a fundamental human right. Energy equity also entails every community being empowered to switch from fossil fuels to clean sources of power. 114 out of 120 countries have made progress on energy equity in the past decade. Today, 62% of the world’s population live in a country that is addressing energy affordability, but progress has plateaued in the last 3 years.
