1990's Graffiti Bridge was dubbed the unofficial sequel to 'Purple Rain' (1984). The film is directed and written by Prince. The movie was filmed at Paisley Park Studios and in and around Minneapolis. Prince plays the character of "The Kid" and Morris Day plays his own character. The story revolves around a rivalry over the ownership of the "Glam Slam" nightclub. Reviews for the $10 million film were negative. Graffiti Bridge was declared a commercial flop after grossing only $4.5 million at the box office.
