Utah Fish Supply to Increase with Loa Fish Hatchery Rebuild

Built in 1936, the Loa Fish Hatchery was Utah's most productive hatchery for decades. But the facility was closed in 2014 due to an infestation of New Zealand mud snails. Last year, the Utah Legislature approved $56.8 million to help rebuild the Loa Fish Hatchery. An event was held that allowed Utahns to learn more about the upcoming construction. Once up and running, the new facility will be capable of producing 350 thousand pounds of fish annually.
