A lefty member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors who abruptly went on leave at the end of March melted into tears as she explained to her constituents why she needed the mental health break. Supervisor Jacqueline Fielder is set to return to work June 29, after her absence earlier in the year fueled theories on what motivated the first-term lawmaker to go missing from City Hall meetings for weeks before checking herself in for treatment. In a June 23 Instagram post, Fielder said “I left the work I love so much not because I wanted to but because my mental health demanded it.”
