T'puram: A new probe team of Crime Branch will investigate the sexual abuse allegations mentioned in the complaint of Saritha S Nair. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy and KC Venugopal were booked based on the complaint. Unnatural sexual abuse case was registered against Oommen Chandy whereas rape charge was filed against KC Venugopal. A team led by SP Abdul Kareem will probe the case. Crime Branch officials in the DySP rank are also included in the team. It is reported that the new probe team will come under the special investigation team which is in-charge of solar case. In her statement, Saritha alleged that Oommen Chandy and Venugopal have sexually abused her in Thiruvananthapuram. An FIR was registered according to this statement. In the FIR, it is mentioned that the incident took place in the year 2012.
