On this episode of Booknotes, Brian Lamb interviewed author Zig Ziglar. In [Zig: The Autobiography of Zig Ziglar], published by Doubleday, Mr. Ziglar chronicles his transformation from a struggling salesman to the sales champion of several different companies, and finally to his current career as one of the world's best-known motivational speakers and trainers. In the interview, he spoke about his career, and how he came to be a motivational speaker. He spoke at length about politics, and about the importance of focusing on religion, both in education and in politics. In Mr. Ziglar's opinion, politicians today are not as sincere as those who founded America, primarily due to the lack of religion in politics. He also spoke briefly about his opinions on politicians today, including former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton.
