President Donald Trump held a news conference with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair General Dan Caine on U.S. air strikes in Venezuela overnight that facilitated the capture of the country's president, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife. Mr. Trump said Maduro was being transported to New York City to face charges of narco-terrorism and more. The president and U.S. officials took questions from reporters on the strikes after giving remarks in which the president said the U.S. would be "running" Venezuela until a "safe and judicious transition" of power could occur. U.S.-based oil companies would be invited to take control of the country's oil production and reserves.
