US News and World Report has released its 34th annual "Best Hospital" rankings. The rankings evaluated 484 regional hospitals on 30 medical and surgical services. This year's list features an "Honor Roll" of 22 hospitals, replacing rankings & focusing on specialties, conditions, procedures & regions. The change was driven by user surveys, seeking to highlight providers near patients' locations. US News chief analyst Ben Harder said the change "has been several years in the making”. Some of the top-ranked hospitals on the "Honor Roll" include Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic. As well as NYU Langone Hospitals and Johns Hopkins Hospital. 3 new facilities also joined the list, including North Shore University Hospital, UC San Diego Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
