Five members of the state’s parole board were confirmed by top Democrats in the California Senate on Wednesday even after public outcry over controversial releases of child predators and other criminals. Commissioners William Muniz, Michael Ruff, Rosalind Sargent-Burns, Mary Thornton and Jack Weiss all received the nod from the rules committee, which will then send for a final confirmation vote on the Senate floor.
