MID-RANGE SHOOTING OFF CROSS-DRIBBLE. Former WNBA player and NCAA star, Toccara Williams teaches effective mid-range shooting off the cross-dribble. In this drill you will use a jab step in the opposite direction than you plan on attacking. If your objective is to go left, you want to take a jab step with your right foot. Once you jab with the opposite foot, make sure that you use that same foot by cross stepping in front of your defender and taking an explosive power dribble with your opposite hand which will lead you into your shot. An athletic stance is important here for balance, stability and explosiveness as you take your jab step with the cross dribble into your shot.
