Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel is using the Miami Grand Prix to highlight the issue of climate change. The German driver wore a t-shirt with a statement about climate change to the opening party of the inaugural Miami GP. Vettel’s t-shirt had the message “Miami 2060, 1st Grand Prix underwater, Act now or swim later” written on the front of it. The shirt also featured an image of a driver’s helmet underwater with a snorkel. Vettel has long been an advocate for action on climate change and has pushed the sport to become more eco-friendly. Experts say that Miami is one of the most vulnerable cities in the world to the effects of climate change. Some experts have previously estimated that Miami may be underwater by 2060 or even sooner due to rising sea levels.
