Snow Showers and Slushy Roads Create Hazardous Conditions in Cottonwood Canyons

United States - February 08, 2025 Cottonwood Canyons, Utah – The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is warning drivers of snow showers and hazardous road conditions in the Cottonwood Canyons through the evening of February 8. Expect light snow after 1 p.m., with a dusting on the roads, followed by lingering snow showers in the upper canyons until 8 p.m. Conditions will remain dry overnight. On SR-190, road conditions vary from wet to heavy slush and snow, with slush starting at S Curve (MP 6.5). Traction devices are required, and drivers are urged to be cautious of slick spots. Crews are out working to clear the roads, but travelers should proceed with care, especially near Solitude Mountain and Brighton Resort. Parking reservations are required at Brighton Resort, with fines ranging from $75 to $150 for violations.
