Rubbish set alight spreads to home in 'dangerous' arson attack

Rubbish set alight in a series of arson attacks in Jaywick spread to a home - prompting police to warn about arsonists who "put people's lives in danger". A sofa was set on fire in Bentley Avenue, Jaywick at around 10.20pm on April 11. It spread to a fence and trellis, then a home - setting light to insulation inside the wall while a 46-year-old woman was inside. Shortly afterwards, a large bin and bags of rubbish were set alight in Alvis Avenue. Rubbish was also set alight in Essex Avenue.
