Iraqi PM speaks after assassination attempt

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt with an armed drone but was unharmed, the Iraqi government announced early Sunday morning. In a statement on Iraqi TV soon after the attack, al-Kadhimi said: "My residence was targeted by a cowardly attack, but thank god I'm in good health. Your security and military forces are working for Iraq's stability and protection. Cowardly rocket and drone attacks don't build homelands and don't build a future." In a statement released early on Sunday, the government said the drone tried to hit al-Kadhimi's home in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone area.
