Comedian Kathy Griffin has trolled Twitter owner Elon Musk by using her dead mother’s account after her account was suspended. Her account was suspended after she changed her display name to Elon Musk, violating the platform's terms of service around impersonating someone. Musk tweeted that “any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended”. Griffin replied to the tweet using her late mom’s account, saying, “I’m back from the grave to say…#freekathy”. When someone pointed out that Griffin was now impersonating her mom she explained that she ran the account for her mom and kept it when she died. “Trust me, she would be with me on this. Relax, Kathy Griffin. The Tesla CEO then joked that Griffin’s account was suspended “for impersonating a comedian”. however, she quickly pointed out that Musk’s fans had been making that joke “for hours” and he just “stole” it.
