Auditors present sweeping reports of Utah’s signature verification system

On Capitol Hill Wednesday, legislators heard the latest analysis on Utah’s election integrity from three separate audits done over the past year. These reports took a deep dive into signature verification and possible fraud detected in the 2024 election. Following the 2024 election, the Lieutenant Governor’s office raised the alarm on potential fraud in their results; it turned to the Attorney General’s office and the Office of the State Auditor to comb through 300,000 signatures. What those offices found left legislators calling for improvements during Wednesday’s Government Operations Interim Committee meeting. Those signatures were gathered by three 2024 campaigns: Cox/Henderson, Curtis, and Derek Brown. The Office of the State Auditor found that 95.6% of all 300K signatures were matched correctly.
