Thanksgiving is around the corner, and many of us will be preparing to travel home to spend time with the family during the holiday season. As you won’t be the only one traveling during this time, it is important to know which are the best and worst days to fly home this year. A study conducted by NerdWallet found that November 27 and December 1 were the worst days to travel. The research, which analyzed the amount of security check-ins at US airports, also found that November 26 and December 2, were the second worst days to travel. You will also pay up to 45% more in ticket prices to fly home on the Sunday after Thanksgiving compared to traveling a day later, according to Hopper. Fortunately, there are plenty of great options to fly home for Thanksgiving, starting with the Saturday before the holiday, which is November 23. The Monday before Thanksgiving, or November 25, is also a good day to travel, as is Thanksgiving Day itself on November 28. If you’re looking to save some money on your return flight, you should wait until December 3 or December 4. However, if you’re someone who likes to have a weekend of rest before heading back to work, Friday, November 29, or “Black Friday” is also a viable option.
