Stephen Bredfeldt has praised his loving wife Amy Bredfeldt for her live-saving kidney donation amid his battle with a rare kidney disease called IgA nephropathy or Bergers disease, which the NIHs National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases describes as "an autoimmune disease that occurs when clumps of antibodies are deposited in your kidneys, causing inflammation and kidney damage."
