Popular British zoologist Adam Britton has been sentenced to ten years and five months in prison in Australia after being found guilty of bestiality and child pornography. He admitted to abusing his dogs and other animals for sexual pleasure, filming the torture, and sharing the videos online under an alias. The 53-year-old was charged with 56 counts of animal cruelty and an additional four counts for possessing and transmitting “worst category” child pornography. A snippet from one of his secret chats was used as evidence, where he explained his inclination toward hurting animals. "I was talking with someone else about why I love to hurt dogs. I wasn’t sure at first, but now I live for it. I can’t stop myself hurting dogs. I was sadistic as a child to animals, but I had repressed it. In the last few years I let it out again, and now I can’t stop. I don’t want to," Britton commented online. The details of his abuse were deemed too graphic for publication, with only Chief Justice Michael Grant and a select group of gallery members allowed to review them. They were reportedly seen sobbing and gasping at the details of Britton’s crimes. At least 39 dogs, including nine puppies, died as a result of the torture. The judgment now bans him from owning or having any mammal on his property for life.
