A rare cold snap in South Florida left hundreds of green iguanas cold-stunned and immobile, prompting emergency action from wildlife officials. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) issued a temporary executive order allowing residents to collect live, cold-stunned green iguanas without a permit and bring them to designated FWC offices. Officials say more than 1,000 of the invasive reptiles were turned in over a single day.
