83-Year-Old Gored by Bison At Yellowstone National Park

An 83-year-old tourist visiting Yellowstone National Park was seriously injured after a bison gored her. Park officials say the woman got too close to the animal, which was "defending its space." "The incident remains under investigation and there is no additional information to share at this time, including the woman’s condition," Yellowstone National Park, Statement. The extent of her injuries is unclear, but she was immediately taken to a local hospital. Bison are the most dangerous animal in the park, and visitors are advised to stay at least 25 yards away from them. This is not the first bison goring incident at Yellowstone; another woman was injured by a bison during mating season in July 2023. In 2022, a bull bison gored a 34-year-old man from Colorado, injuring his arm.
