CONE MINE - Winning Foot Skills 1, Ages 14-16 Youth Soccer Coach, Henry Taramona, teaches winning foot skills with progression 1: Cone Mine Drill. Set up with cones randomly scattered around in an area, this drill helps players develop their foot skills while improving their field awareness and complete ball control. Using both feet, the player will move around the cones with multiple stop-starts and different skill moves. Constantly changing direction and challenging oneself to not use the same skills and turns while always keeping their head up for visual awareness, the player then exits and the following player enters the area. This exercise is best to practice everyday while constantly upping the speed and using all different skills and turns.
